Military Dog Helmet - The K9 Helm, Trident TR-1 Gen2 Tactical Dog Helmet must meet certain criteria to be considered useful dog safety equipment. It should protect vulnerable areas such as the jaw arch, mandibular joint and occipital area, as well as the eyes. At the same time, the design should allow the articulation of the teeth and ears. In addition, it should have a well-designed retention system that will keep the device on the dog's head without obstructing the dog's breathing or breathing. By these standards, the original Trident (TR-1) was the world's first practical working dog helmet.
Now the 2nd generation TR-1 has updated features including a one-piece side mount, left and right Picatinny rails, and a nose bridge for added comfort. Trident was not designed by a computer. It is hand sculpted into a flowing, organic shape that blends harmoniously with the dog's anatomy and movement. Of course, technology has its place. Original shapes are scanned, converted into CAD models and given physical form using HP Multijet Fusion 3D printing – ideal for small batch production where high precision and maximum durability are desired. The result is the Trident K9 Tactical Dog Helmet. Designed for dogs in dangerous jobs, it is a tribute to the K9 helm and a constant reminder to us to never stop innovating, never compromise and never give up.

All dogs of size W4 with size templates will benefit from a larger setting, especially if the dog's neck is 45 cm or larger. Since these helmets typically measure up to S3 in diameter, the K9 handlebars make for a larger fitting helmet with thinner goggle foam for more face room. Standard google foam is added to larger size helmets if your large dog has a narrow muzzle.
Smaller heads require more padding for a good fit. Trident helmets have Velcro-attached spacers that are easy to use. Inside the helmet, match the spacers with Velcro panels of the same shape (shown here in orange). Narrow heads require spacers on the side. Some heads require front and back spacers. Eyeglass frame spacers make everything fit on the face where the face bends into the brain.
Larger dogs have different needs for a proper fit. This kit includes standard 6mm goggle foam and spacers as larger heads sometimes have a narrow nose. The back pad and 2 shims fit large heads that measure L2 or L1 based on our patterns. This is a very common condition for Dutch Shepherds.
